Yorimichi (ヨリミチ)

Sort what you need to buy into lists by store, and Yorimichi notifies you when you are near that store. Never forget an item on your way home.

How to use

Create a list

Tap "Add List" on the Home screen. A list can pick its stores in one of two ways.

"Anywhere" lists search for stores again as you move. In the list's info screen you can also set a store category (supermarket, drugstore, etc.), exclude words (stores whose names contain them are skipped), and individual stores to leave out.

Add items

Open a list and type an item. While you type, items you completed earlier in the same list appear above the keyboard as suggestions. An item can have a quantity, a note, a photo, and a due date. Tap the circle to check it off when you buy it.

Nearby notifications

When you get near a store on a list, you receive a notification titled "List name: Store name". These rules keep notifications from being noisy.

Tap "Get Directions" in a notification or on a list's map to open directions to that store in Apple Maps.

Quiet hours

Many stores are closed late at night, so each list has "Quiet hours" (default 22:00–7:00). You can change the times or turn them off in the list's info screen. Due-date reminders are still delivered during quiet hours.

No notifications around home

In Settings → "Around Home", register your home location and a radius (m / km). Stores inside that area are excluded from notifications. Your home location is stored only on this iPhone.

Pause notifications

Use the bell at the top right of the Home screen to pause notifications (1 hour, 3 hours, 8 hours, or until the end of today) or turn them off. While paused, the bell shows the time remaining, and you can resume at any time.

Items with due dates

If you give an item a due date, you are notified at 9:00 AM on that day, wherever you are. The "Due" tile on the Home screen lists items that have dates. The number on the app icon is the count of unchecked items due today or overdue.

Widgets

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap "+", and choose "Yorimichi". To choose which list to show, touch and hold the widget and tap "Edit Widget".

Trash

Deleted lists and items stay in the Trash for 30 days. Restore them from "Trash" on the Home screen. After 30 days they are permanently deleted.

Turn off notifications

Turn off the "Notifications" switch in Settings to stop all Yorimichi notifications. To stop only one list, turn off "Notify for this list" on that list.

FAQ

I'm not getting notifications.

Please check the following.

I get too many notifications.

Try setting quiet hours, pausing from the bell, turning off "Notify for this list" on lists you don't need, or adding exclude words and excluded stores to "Anywhere" lists.

Is there a limit on how many lists can notify?

The number of store areas an iPhone can monitor is limited. If many lists have notifications on, a newly created list may start with notifications off. Turn off notifications on another list, then turn them on for this one. "Anywhere" lists use more of this allowance than "One store" lists.

Tell me about the in-app purchase.

The app has a one-time in-app purchase. The free version limits how many lists can send notifications; purchasing removes that limit. See the purchase screen in the app for details and the current price. If you've already purchased it, use "Restore Purchase" on that screen after reinstalling or on another device.

Where is my data stored? Can I use it on other devices?

Your data is stored on your device. If "Sync with iCloud" is on, it is synced between your devices through iCloud (CloudKit) under your own Apple Account. No account registration is required, and no data is sent to the developer's servers. If iCloud is unavailable, data is kept only on this iPhone. Your home location and notification settings are not synced; they stay on this iPhone.

How is my location used? Does it drain the battery?

Location is used to detect when you are near a store. The app does not use GPS continuously; it relies on iOS region monitoring and significant-location-change detection to keep battery impact low. Store searches use Apple Maps search (MapKit).

Will I be notified if I swipe the app away?

Yes. With Location set to "Always", iOS wakes the app when you enter a store's area or move a significant distance, and it decides whether to notify you.

An "Anywhere" list shows stores I didn't intend.

Set a store category in the list's info screen, or add exclude words or excluded stores. Results come from Apple Maps data, so some store types cannot be told apart.

The widget doesn't update.

iOS decides when widgets refresh, so changes can take a little while to appear. If it still doesn't update, open the app once and return to the Home Screen. The distance on the Nearby Store widget is calculated from the last location the app received.

How do I delete my data?

Deleted lists and items first go to the Trash. Deleting them permanently from the Trash also removes them from your other devices synced through iCloud. Deleting the app removes the data on your device. Data stored in iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage.

How do I change the language?

The app is available in Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese and follows your iPhone's language. To change the language for this app only, go to iPhone Settings → Yorimichi → Language.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later.
